ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two brothers were arrested during a raid on their home in Barangay West Villaflores, Maayon, Capiz, on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 4.
The suspects were identified as Ronilo Dordas, 28, and his brother Gabriel Dordas, 26, both residents of the said barangay.
They were arrested by joint operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Capiz and the Maayon Municipal Police Station armed with a search warrant.
Police recovered a homemade shotgun without ammunition and a .45 caliber pistol loaded with four live rounds.
The search warrant was issued by Judge Lorencito B. Diaz of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 17, 6th Judicial Region, Roxas City, dated Sept. 1, 2025.
The suspects are currently in the custody of CIDG Capiz for proper disposition.
They will face charges for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old woman wanted for slander was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Sapian, Capiz, also on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect, known only by her alias “Nene,” is a resident of Barangay Bilao, Sapian, Capiz.
She was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by the court.
The court recommended bail of PHP 18,000 for her temporary release.
She is now under the custody of the Sapian Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
