The Iloilo City Government together with the Iloilo City Sports Development Division will hold the first-ever Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Inland Fishing Tournament on September 28, 2019, at La Paz Lagoon, La Paz, Iloilo City.
The first 50 registrants will automatically be participants of the tournament, based on a first come first serve basis.
The fishing tournament’s rules are; The winner is decided by the weight of the fish caught; no practice fishing before the tourney starts; alcohol, smoke, and drugs are prohibited; competitors must use a single-pole, line, and hook all the time; competitors may use all hook baits only; and species of the fish caught must be confirmed during the tournament.
The champion will be awarded 3,000 pesos, second with 2,000 pesos, third with 1,000 pesos, and the fourth and fifth placers with 500 pesos.
The competition will start at 4:00 p.m. and will end at 7:00 p.m.
