As a reward for their sacrifices and accolades during the recent 30th Southeast Asian Games hosted by our country, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) began the release of SEAG coaches’ cash incentives.
Philippine national team coaches from arnis, athletics, beach handball, billiards, bowling, boxing, cycling, dancesports, gymnastics, jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, modern pentathlon, muay, pencak silat, rowing, sailing, sambo, sepak takraw, soft tennis, softball, squash, taekwondo, tennis, weightlifting, windsurfing, and wrestling were the first ones to get their checks.
According to the National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act, or the Republic Act No. 10699, those coaches who clinched gold medals will have a cash incentive of 150,000 pesos, coaches who garnered silver will receive 75,000 pesos, while bronze medal finishers will have 30,000 pesos.
The funding for the coaches’ incentives was allocated from the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) given for the RA. 10699 remitted by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
Those who coached archery, baseball, canoe, fencing, judo, lawn bowls, obstacle course, swimming, traditional boat race, and volleyball will be the next batch to receive their cash incentives.
