A 16-year-old boy remains at large after allegedly shooting another minor on the afternoon of October 25 in Molo, Iloilo City.
The suspect, identified as alias Carl, a resident of Barangay Boulevard in Molo, attacked alias Toto, 16, who lives in the same area.
Police Capt. Ryan Christ Inot, chief of Iloilo City Police Station 4, said the victim was walking along the shoreline when Carl approached and confronted him.
Investigators said the two had a history of conflict.
A commotion broke out between Carl and Toto until Carl’s 19-year-old friend, identified as Nonoy, handed him a 12-gauge shotgun.
Carl fired the weapon, hitting Toto in the right thigh.
The suspect and his companion immediately fled after the shooting.
Inot said Carl had previously been charged with homicide for his involvement in a stabbing incident in July 2025.
He was later released from the custody of Balay Dalayunan after posting bail.
Carl’s mother, 32-year-old Lora, said she had done everything to discipline her son but claimed he became influenced by his peers.
As the investigation continues, Inot said police are preparing to file a frustrated homicide case against both Carl and Nonoy.
