BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) arrested 1,235 persons for illegal gambling during the first half of 2019.
The data covers the units’ accomplishments from January to June.
Police Major Lester Leada, BCPO operations branch head, said 191 operations were conducted here to include – 22 against illegal numbers game, 163 against cara y cruz and other card games, and six against illegal cockfighting.
Leada said 700 persons were arrested and 191 cases were filed, with the confiscation of P32,748 bet money.
Meanwhile, the provincial police office conducted 200 operations and arrested 535 individuals. A total of 106 cases were filed.
Nocppo confiscated bet money amounting to P102,177 from the said violations.
