12-year-old dies, eight injured in truck accident

BACOLOD CITY — A 12-year-old girl was killed and eight others were injured after a truck they were in overturned in Barangay Isio, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday.
Police Lt. Col. Gary Alan Resuma, the town police chief, reported the family was returning home at about 8 p.m. when the driver lost control on a curve.
The family had attended a relative’s birthday party in Ilog town. According to Resuma, all occupants, except the minor, were believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
The girl was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the remaining eight, including the driver, sustained minor injuries.
