BACOLOD City – The commanding general of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division said the redeployment of the 11th Infantry Battalion to Negros Island will boost peace efforts of the government.
Major Gen. Dinoh A Dolina welcomed the 11th IB upon their arrival at the Dumaguete port during the weekend.
“The return of the 11IB will boost the government’s peace campaign in Negros Island and will definitely help in fast tracking our anti-insurgency and clearing efforts in the island,” Dolina said in a press statement sent to media outfits here on June 10, 2019.
The 11IB was formerly stationed at Barangay McKinley in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental and was deployed to Zamboanga City in Mindanao two years ago.
Dolina also said that “With the addition of 11IB in the island of Negros, we shall have five Infantry Battalions – the 94th Infantry Battalion in Negros Oriental and the 15th, 62nd and 79th IBs in Negros Occidental – working hand in hand to eradicate CPP-NPA terrorists. And with the return of the 11IB, we are now seeing the faster demise of the terrorist organization in this part of the region soon.”
