BACOLOD City – 1,191 household beneficiaries in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental received their cash aid of P6,000 each last Tuesday through the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP), according to the Army’s 79th Infantry Battalion (IB).
Military troopers, police, members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other partner agencies ensured the smooth distribution of SAP cash grants to the recipients, who were included as “waitlisted” during the first tranche at the municipal gymnasium.
They provided security to the government workers and beneficiaries while strictly implementing the minimum health protocols such as social distancing and wearing of face masks throughout the activity.
SAP allowance is given to those qualified beneficiaries affected by the ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Alvaran, 79th IB commander, said in a statement that local authorities will ensure peaceful and orderly distribution of these benefits to all qualified beneficiaries.
Alvaran also requested the Negrosanons to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
