BACOLOD City – Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Negros Occidental has breached the 100-mark.
As of this writing, the province has 104 cases and most of them were traced to returning Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
The 104 COVID-19 cases include 101 OFWS and LSIs.
The youngest COVID patient in the province is a 2-month-old male baby from Moises Padilla.
Charina Magallanes-Tan, Negros Occidental COVID-19 Incident Command Center spokesperson, said the baby and his mother arrived in Negros Occidental from Manila on June 21. They are both quarantined at the EB Magalona Healing Center.
The baby’s mother is still awaiting the result of her Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test.
Tan also said that of the 13 COVID-19 positive LSIs on Thursday, 11 came from Manila and two from Cebu. They are all facility quarantined.
Bacolod City had 51 COVID-19 cases as of yesterday, including 40 LSIs and OFWs, Department of Health records showed.
