BACOLOD City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) informed its consumers of a 10-hour power interruption on June 9, 2019 here and in some parts of Negros Occidental due to maintenance activities of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
NGCP communication officer Michelle Vicera said the scheduled brownout will last from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The power interruption will affect areas covered by the Bacolod-San Enrique transmission lines.
NGCP will conduct replacement of corroded light-weight structure, repair of damaged conductor, and replacement of insulators with flash-over, and replacement of rotten poles and lines.
Ceneco will also conduct maintenance activities on June 8 which will affect the Sum-ag and Lag-asan substations to ensure the “reliability of distribution” of power lines.
Consumers are advised that, in the event of any power interruption, electrical switches should be turned-off for safety reasons.
