BACOLOD City A man was slightly injured after an ambulance hit a carabao at Barangay Tangub here Thursday night.
Police Staff Sergeant Abello Randay, Bacolo City police traffic investigator, said the ambulance driven by Renato Panabe was transporting a pregnant woman from La Carlota City to a private hospital here.
Panabe, who works for the La Carlota City Disaster Risk Reduction Management office, allegedly overtook a vehicle when four carabaos suddenly crossed the street at around 10:45 p.m.
The ambulance hit one of the carabaos, which witnesses claimed to be pregnant. The carabao died on the spot.
Panabes companion, who occupied the front passenger seat, suffered minor injuries.
The pregnant woman was unharmed and transferred to the ambulance of Bacolod City.
The La Carlota City ambulance suffered heavy damages.
Authorities have yet to identify the owner of the carabao.
