ROXAS CITY, Capiz A 31-year-old woman died while her live-in partner was injured when their tricycle fell into a river Wednesday afternoon at Barangay Tapulang, Maayon, Capiz.
Joan Belvis is believed to have drowned to death while her partner Mark Cacatian, 31, of Barangay Pantalan, Pres. Roxas is confined in a hospital here.
Investigation conducted by Maayon police indicated that the victims were crossing a bridge on their way home after visiting a relative at Barangay Sinabsaban, Cuartero.
But Cacatian lost control of the tricycle and fell into the river. He was able to swim to safety but Belvis was not as lucky.
A search and retrieval operation was conducted by local authorities until they found Belviss body some four kilometres away from the scene of the accident.
