BACOLOD City – A motorcycle driver died while four others were injured after they figured in a collision at Crossing Bagonbon, Barangay Marcelo, Calatrava, Negros Occidental Sunday, October 13.
Police identified the fatality as Melchor Campus, 27, of the said village.
Wounded were tricycle driver Jerson Saldavia, 24, of Barangay Punao, San Carlos City; and passengers Jolita Obejero, 40; an 11-year-old girl; and Fedelina Paragasol, 69, all residents of Calatrava town.
Investigation showed that the tricycle was on its way to Barangay Minapasuk in the town when it was allegedly hit by the motorcycle.
Both vehicles swerved which caused the tricycle to turn turtle. Campus was thrown off from his motorcycle due to the impact.
All the victims sustained injuries and were brought to the hospital, where Campus later expired due to severe head injuries.
