1 dead, 2 hurt in Tapaz motorcycle-pickup collision

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A motorcycle driver was killed and two others were injured after a collision with a pickup truck on Sunday morning, July 27, in Barangay Taft, Tapaz, Capiz.
Police said the motorcycle, driven by alias Toto and carrying two back riders, was headed to Barangay Poblacion in Bingawan, Iloilo, when it collided with a Toyota Hilux driven by alias Jun, who was en route to Calinog, Iloilo.
According to the Tapaz Municipal Police Station, the motorcycle driver lost control, resulting in a head-on crash.
The impact threw all three motorcycle riders onto the concrete pavement, causing injuries to various parts of their bodies.
Toto was declared dead on arrival at Tapaz District Hospital.
The two back riders were also brought to the same hospital for treatment.
The pickup driver, Jun, voluntarily surrendered to the Tapaz police for proper disposition.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
