1 dead, 1 injured in motorcycle collision

BACOLOD City – A man died while another was injured after they figured in a motorcycle collision at Barangay Aranda, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental Sunday morning.
Police identified the fatality as Syldon Pallorina, 38, of Barangay Bato.
Wounded was William Medes Jr., 46, of Barangay Enclaro, Binalbagan town.
Police Corporal July Pailanan, traffic investigator of Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, said Medes and Pallorina were traveling on opposite directions when the latter allegedly sideswiped Medes.
Both suffered head injuries. They were taken to a hospital, where Pallorina was declared dead.
Pailanan said Pallorina allegedly came from a funeral wake and was allegedly under the influence of liquor on his way home while Medes was doing a mechanical break in on his motorcycle.
Both of them were not wearing helmets, he added.
Pailanan said the families of both parties have yet to meet regarding the incident.
Medes was transferred to a hospital here.
