The most wanted person of Zamboanga Sibugay province was arrested in Ajuy, Iloilo early evening of March 8.

The suspect, Jomar Posadas, 33, of Barangay Pangi Top Mars P-4, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, was collared at NHA Dawis, Barangay Poblacion, Ajuy.

Several police units – the Ajuy Municipal Police Station, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 6, the Estancia MPS, the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, Ipil MPS, and Zamboanga Sibugay PPO-PIU joined the operation.

Lieutenant General Enrique Robles, Ajuy police chief, said the suspect was accused of murder in Criminal Case No. I-8541.

Judge Joel Gonzaga Vercide of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 37 in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay issued the arrest warrant on Sept. 17, 2021.

Posadas is also the fourth most wanted in the Zamboanga Peninsula region and 8th in Ipil town.

Robles said the suspect has been in hiding in Ajuy town for around a year already.

He’s allegedly staying with some relatives.

Posadas’ legal woes could not have been unearthed had he remained low-key.

“Nanggugulo siya kapag lasing. Tapos may sukbit na baril kapag lumalabas ng bahay,” Robles said.

Since he’s not a resident of the area, local police dug up the PNP E-Warrant database.

“That’s when we found out that he’s facing a murder case in Mindanao,” Robles said.

Posadas is now detained and will be turned over to the court concerned.
