The West Visayas State University capped off their dominant Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) by taking home the championship trophy in the women’s basketball.

Battling it out with powerhouse Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College, the WVSU women’s squad brought out their all, ending in a game-winning shot from the corner to give them a 52-51 victory.

The championship match was an intense nip-and-tuck between the two squads who answered each other with scoring runs during the second half.

NIPSC first led in the early parts of the half but the WVSU hoopers came back surging with their own offensive run soon as the third frame started.

In the clutch seconds of the game, NIPSC was awarded with a shot from the charity stripe which they converted.

After the conversion, WVSU quickly inbounded the ball and fired an outlet pass to the middle then a quick pass to the open shooter at the corner which she converted, sealing the game in dramatic fashion.
