WVSU women’s arnis squad racks 7th straight RSCUAA championship

The West Visayas State University women’s arnis team inked their name in the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) history books.

Winning their seventh straight RSCUAA arnis championship, the prized arnisadoras of WVSU carried on their dominant outing every year and did it again this 2020.

Collecting a staggering 17 gold medals for the anyo category and 4 golds in labanan, the 21 gold medals garnered by the WVSU arnisadoras helped them edge Capiz State University for the crown.

In total, the WVSU women’s squad clinched 28 medals overall, 21 golds, 6 silvers, and 1 bronze medal.

Meanwhile, in the men’s category, the WVSU arnisadors ranked second-runner up with a total medal count of 26.

“Proud gid ako as West Visayas State University Sports Director with their achievements and as a trainer,” Dr. Richard Gabayoyo told the Daily Guardian.
