Tallying an impressive 18 medals (12 gold medals and 6 silvers) the West Visayas State University (WVSU) Main Campus jins were declared the overall champion in taekwondo of the 2019 WVSU inter-campus Hinampang held at the City Mall Parola, Iloilo.

In second place were the jins of WVSU Lambunao with 8 gold medals, 5 silvers, and 1 bronze.

WVSU-Janiuay landed in third place with 1 gold medal, 4 silvers, and 8 bronze medals.

In the Kyorugi event, Plas Elijan Avelino of WVSU main campus notched gold, while Frech Van Sola, also from the main campus, won another gold in the flyweight division.

In the bantamweight, Efren Leonero from the main campus got a gold medal while in the featherweight, Philip Ramirez of Lambunao campus got the gold.

Nicko Losbañez of Lambunao conquered the lightweight division, while schoolmate Kenneth Gascon also won gold in the welterweight division.

Karl De La Cruz of the main campus ruled the Heavyweight division.

In the women’s category, Jonalyn Jalando-on from the main campus got gold, Mylene Memoria of Lambunao notched the top honors in flyweight, Renalyn Galladora of Lambunao topped the bantamweight division, and Jesa Laprado ruled the featherweight.

For the lightweight division, Cleo Angelie Ruel of the main campus won the gold medal, Minle Mar Ayalin from Janiuay clinched gold in the welterweight, Jevy Ann Cachuela from Lambunao ruled the middleweight, and Angela Malones (main campus) nabbed gold in the heavyweight division.
