The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 acquired 42 brand-new Honda XRM motorcycles and five Negev 5.56mm machines guns to boost its move-and-shoot capability.

Police Major General Rolando Felix of the PNP Directorate for Integrated Police Office (DIPO)-Visayas, together with PRO-6 chief Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, witnessed the blessing of the equipment at the PRO-6 headquarters in Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City on Monday.

Felix said the acquisition of additional vehicles and firearms is part of the PNP Capability Enhancement Program, which aims to provide for and enhance the basic operational requirements of police stations and mobile force units.

The machine guns will go to the PNP mobile force companies.

Felix said the new motorcycles will be distributed to improve the mobility of police stations. But Boracay is a priority because of its peace and order challenges.

“The units will be distributed based on the number of existing motorcycles in police stations. Those with less or have none will be the priority,” he said.

Felix said the procurement is part of the continuing efforts to improve the “move, shoot and communicate” capabilities of line units.
