Police have yet to identify the woman whose body was found Feb. 17, 2020 at Barangay Tranghawan, Lambunao, Iloilo.

Police Executive Master Sergeant Estanislao Lacatan of Lambunao PNP said several families went to the police station to identify the body.

“But they all claimed that the body is not one of their family members,” he said.

Lacatan said they already sent messages to other police stations to find out if a woman went missing in their areas.

But some sources are not discounting that the body may that be of a mentally-challenged woman who was often seen loitering in Lambunao.

The woman has not been seen in the area for several days already.

But authorities are having a hard time identifying the body as it was already decomposing.

The cadaver was buried in the public cemetery hours after it was found.

Lacatan said they have pictures of the body and other items for anyone who would inquire about her.

The body could also be exhumed if claimants have substantial proof that it could be their loved one.

Based on the scene of the crime operations reports, the woman was around 40 years old and may have been dead for a week already.

She had no lower garments when found. Her head and upper portion of the body was in a culvert pipe when found.
