Wife, 48, assaults ‘jealous’ hubby, 67

Being accused of having a lover was too much to handle for a 48-year-old wife who violently assaulted her husband.

The incident happened 4:20 p.m. on March 8 at the couple’s house at NHA Village in Barangay Bacjawan Norte, Concepcion, Iloilo.

Police reports indicated that suspect Gloria Quendaw was drinking liquor with her husband Carreon when they had a heated argument.

Major Ronnie Brillo, Concepcion police chief, said the 67-year-old Carreon allegedly accused his wife of having sex with another man.

Irked, the wife went to the kitchen, which is just several steps from where they were drinking, and took a 10-inch butcher’s knife.

She then swung the blade and sliced Carreon’s left ear.

The victim was immediately taken to Sara District Hospital for treatment.

Brillo said Gloria did not escape from their house where she was arrested.

She told investigators that she flared up because of the false accusation against her.

Two kids, presumably aged 10 years old and below, were inside the house when the spat happened.

Brillo said Carreon has yet to decide if he will sue his wife.
