A fugitive was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation evening of Nov 12, 2022, in San Miguel, Iloilo.

Members of the San Miguel and Pavia municipal police stations and the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company collared Jomar Sandicho, 29, after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P1,100 near his house at Barangay San Jose, San Miguel.

When frisked, 24 more sachets were seized from Sandicho’s possession.

Major Sullen Domingo, San Miguel police chief, said they conducted the operation unaware that Sandicho is wanted for a murder charge.

The suspect, a street-level pusher, was monitored to be in the illegal drug trade at the height of the pandemic.

He was allegedly getting his supply from sources in Iloilo City.

At the time that he was starting his narcotics trade, a warrant of arrest against him was already issued but he was able to skirt arrest for more than three years.

Sandicho, who is tagged as Pavia town’s fourth most person, was accused of killing a minor.

Judge Victorino Maniba of the Regional Trial Court in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant against the suspect for murder with the use of an unlicensed firearm in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) on July 16, 2019.

No bail was recommended for his provisional liberty.

With his arrest, a case for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against the suspect.
