BACOLOD City – Commission on Elections Provincial Supervisor Salud Milagros Villanueva on May 12, 2019 called on the public to vote according to their conscience as they troop to their respective  voting precincts today, May 13.

“Don’t sell your votes, vote wisely,” Villanueva said when asked by the Daily Guardian here for her message to the voters.

Villanueva also urged the public to report incidents of vote buying,

She added that there is a pro-forma complaint form which can be used to report vote-buying incidents.

“There is always redemption in doing the right thing,” Villanueva said.

She also called on the law enforcers, the police and the military to be apolitical.

That is our mandate, not only by the President but by law, she said.

For the candidates, Villanueva said “Don’t buy votes and accept defeat graciously.”

Villanueva said barring signal problems and uncalled for incidents, the results of the elections will be known before election day is over.

She said they expect that elections will be peaceful especially after President Duterte visited Moises Padilla town recently.
