Village councilman killed in motorcycle crash

A village councilman died after he was hit by a motorcycle early morning of March 21 at Leganes, Iloilo.

Barangay Kagawad Rodel Hubero, 55, was crossing the road at Gua-an village when he was bumped by a motorcycle.

He was rushed to Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

Police identified the suspect as Pfizer Bretaña, 45, a resident of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

Staff Sergeant John Mark Tuason, Leganes PNP traffic Investigator, said that Bretaña is a member of the Philippine Army assigned to the Civil Military Operations (CMO) Battalion.

Bretaña was on his way to their office located at Barangay Nabitasan, Leganes, when the incident happened.

Bretaña claimed to have not noticed the victim who was crossing the road.

The victim’s family claimed they would pursue charges against the rider.
