BACOLOD City – Believe in yourself.

This was the advice of 23-year-old Sidfrey Mel Aldeguer Flores to those who will take board exams.

Flores, who graduated summa cum laude from Colegio de San Agustin Bacolod (CSA-B) in 2022, topped the March 2023 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination. He garnered 92.10 percent.

Flores is the youngest son of Barangay Villamonte Captain Rommel Flores here. He finished senior high school at the same college with a general weighted average (GWA) of 99.32.

In a media interview, the young medical technology graduate said he did not expect to be in the Top 1, but he was hoping to be included in the Top 10.

Flores said he did not panic during the exam and was even fulfilled when he answered the last item in the examination.

However, he said that the pandemic caused them limited clinical exposure which he considered vital in the course.

Despite this, he said he was able to cope with the challenges and prepared for the exam.

He said that being healthy, giving himself time to rest and leisure, as well as having good social relationships with people and strengthened spiritual life helped him in this endeavor.

He said that it is important for a person to have mental fortitude during the exam to surpass all personal struggles and emerged victorious in the end.

He said that taking up Medical Technology was his personal choice because of the fascinating subjects.

Flores graduated salutatorian in elementary and valedictorian in high school.
