BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said on July 30, 2019 that he hopes President Rodrigo Duterte will soon order the resumption of all games sanctioned by  the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Ferrer said thousands of Negrense are affected by the stoppage of PCSO games, especially the Small Town Lottery (STL) bet solicitors whose daily needs depend on the legalized game of chance.

Ferrer said the share of local government units from STL are used to help their needy constituents.

He recalled that when he was mayor of La Carlota City, they were able to buy two ambulances using the STL shares.

Ferrer said thousands also benefit from the PCSO’s medical assistance.

Earlier President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the suspension of PCSO games due to alleged anomalies.

But on Wednesday, Duterte allowed lotto to continue its draws but STL, Keno, and Peryahan ng Bayan are still suspended.
