ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The promotion of Capiz as one of the best tourist destinations in the country is the focus of the Office of the Vice Governor.

Arnel Estiaga, information officer of the Vice Governor’s Office, said that the promotion of the province as a tourist destination can be intensively done using the digital media.

“This is the reason why Vice Governor Jaime Magbanua pushed for the conduct of digital media training workshop last July 26 to boost the tourism industry in Capiz,” he said.

Etiaga said that Magbanua believes that aside from the bountiful seafood and dried fish in the province, there are a lot of places and natural resources here that are still untapped and need to be showcased.

On the other hand, Magbanua said that through the digital training workshop, “we can develop the talents and skills of individuals who can help promote and sustain the tourism industry in the province as key factor towards economic development.”

“We need people to advertise and move Capiz as one of the tourist destinations in Region 6,” Magbanua added.

A total of 30 employees from the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office Roxas City Communications Group, Roxas City Museum and OVG Communication Teams have attended in the training workshop.

Included in the discussion during the training are the basics of digital marketing, creating an effective Facebook campaign using various tools, audience targeting, content creation, ads management, data analytics extraction and interpretation and community management.

Earlier, Magbanua said tourism promotion and development is one of his top priority legislative agenda. (PIA)
