UPV Alumni groups send early Christmas cheers to Iraynon Bukidnons of Laua-an 

Early Christmas presents were shared with the Iraynon Bukidnon indigenous peoples of Brgy. Latazon and Brgy. San Ramon in Laua-an, Antique, on December 2 and 3, 2021.

Goods containing grocery items and children slippers coming from the UP Fight Group, IAmUPHigh, UPAA, and the Exmundo Brothers of the UP Hamili-Hamilia Organization were turned-over to these hinterland communities. These were done through the facilitation of the team from the UPV Cultural Mapping Project led by Anna Razel Ramirez and Prof. Jose Taton, who were at the time, doing fieldwork in these communities.

Tribal Chieftain Abel Pedro and Brgy. Capt. Jose Juanillo of Brgy. Latazon and Tribal Chieftain Roman Samillano and  Brgy. Capt. Hilario Samillano of Brgy. Latazon  officially accepted the donations. They sent their appreciation to the UPV alumni who thought of them who lifted their spirits amidst the hardships of life in these mountainous barangays.

These barangays are almost 18 kilometers from the town proper and has an elevation of 2,448 ft. above sea level. It can be reached through rough and rugged roads carved along the side of the mountain. (UPV-CMA)
