BIKERS, get your pedals ready!
Validus Amicitia brotherhood, a fraternity in the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, will hold a biking event in Iloilo City on October 9.
Now in its third year, the famous UP Validus ‘VAykfest’ is a fun ride around Iloilo City and some parts of the province that promotes fitness, well-being, being healthy, and disciplined.
Validus’ VAykfest is also in celebration of the fraternity’s 45th founding anniversary and has always been one of the highlights of their week-long events.
This year’s edition of VAykfest will feature a 45-kilometer route starting from UP Visayas’ city campus passing through Villa, Oton, San Miguel, and Pavia.
Two mountain bikes and other bike accessories will be up for grabs plus a free event singlet for all registrants who reached the finish line.
The 3rd VAykfest’s proceeds will then benefit the various community projects in partnership with Validus and UP Visayas.
“VAykfest is one of the organization’s impact events covering UP and the community. This aims to encourage everyone to engage in a healthy lifestyle via activities that benefit one’s physical and mental being,” said Validus’ current chairman Mr. Julix Mendoza.
