Athletes under the University of the Philippines Diliman varsity teams recently took part in helping one of the community pantries around the campus.

Together with sponsoring organizations NowheretogobutUP Foundation by Renen Dalisay and Sama-Sama Tulong-Tulong by Atty. Gaby Concepcion, the community pantry at UP’s Quirino Avenue gate was filled with goods for the needy.

Modelled after the initiative by Ana Patricia Non in the Maginhawa Community Pantry, it then became viral all over the Philippines and almost every region is already practicing it in several areas.

Fighting Maroons rookies Bismarck Lina and Maodo Malick Diouf were then spotted lending help to the poor in the said pantry location.

The drive was mainly organized by the UP Transport Group and both Lina and Diouf, who came from different schools before entering Diliman.

Lina came from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) while Diouf was one of the superstars from Centro Escolar University and is set to boost the men’s basketball team in their quest for a UAAP title.
