Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will be back in the world of sports but this time, in soccer.

After announcing his retirement in mixed martial arts particularly in the UFC, Nurmagomedov confirmed that he will be joining third-tier Russian soccer club FC Legion Dynamo.

It was seven months ago when Nurmagomedov expressed his desire in pursuing a career in soccer right after his decision of leaving the UFC.

Nurmagomedov began posting videos of him working out with captions stating that he is practicing for his soccer debut and he is ready to accept offers.

Months after, Legion Dynamo then posted a photo of the Russian UFC superstar shaking the hands of one of their club officials formally welcoming the newest member of their club.

Nurmagomedov retired from the UFC after another dominant performance against Justin Gaethje last October 24, 2020 and will go down as one of the best to step in the octagon with an astonishing record of 29 wins with no loss.

The Russian ground specialist was notable for dominating Ireland’s biggest star Conor Mcgregor and had an amazing streak of 13 straight wins in the past eight years.
