Two yield P340-K worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Two persons were arrested in a buy-bust that yielded P340,000 worth of suspected shabu at Purok Langis, Barangay Banago here last Tuesday.

Apprehended were Rogie Jamelo, 46, of the said village, and Marcelino Nicavera, 24, of Barangay Mandalagan here.

PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), along with the City Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 3 conducted the operation that resulted in the recovery of 50 grams of suspected shabu, the P1,000 marked money, boodle or fake money, and P180.

According to the report, Jamelo was the primary subject of the operation.

Police Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, CDEU head, said that both can be categorized as high value individuals considering the volume of illegal drugs recovered from them.

“Daw may puwesto na da siya (Jamelo) abi, na puwede plastaran kung may magbakal,” he added.

The suspects were placed under monitoring for a couple of weeks. Jamelo and Nicavera are detained at Police Station 3.

Both have yet to be reached for comment.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, lauded the joint operating personnel for the said accomplishment.

“This bespeaks of your dedication and commitment in our campaign against illegal drugs,” Dongbo said, as he urged them to continue their efforts and look deeper if these suspects have cohorts in their alleged illegal activities.
