BACOLOD City – Two alleged snatchers were arrested after police sighted their motorcycle at Barangay 10 here last Monday.

Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, identified the suspects as Regie Lamprea, 42, of Barangay Taculing, and Jhay Garcia, 42, of Barangay 3 here.

Sarona said operatives were monitoring a black NMAX motorcycle after they received information that it was reportedly being used by two persons in snatching incidents here.

Sarona said the two suspects sensed that they were tailed by police, thus, they allegedly pointed a gun against the cops.

A brief chase then followed until both suspects were pinned down at the corner of San Juan-Luzuriaga Streets, Barangay 12 here.

Police recovered from the duo three sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,800, five live .45-caliber ammunitions, a gun replica, two improvised tooters, and a motorcycle.

Sarona said the two suspects have victimized a lot of persons, especially in the areas of Police Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

In fact, many valuable items, identification cards, and cellular phones, among others were recovered from them, and from the boarding house of Lamprea.

Sarona said that both suspects were previously charged for illegal drugs and were released in 2019 through plea bargaining.

Lamprea also had a previous robbery case, according to Sarona.

Following their arrest, Sarona said that some victims went to the police station to pursue the filing of charges against the two suspects.

Sarona said they are checking if both of them have links with a crime group.
