BACOLOD City – Two male teenagers were arrested by a security guard after they allegedly robbed a public high school at Barangay Taculing here early Sunday.

Arrested were Walter Mondragon, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, whose name was withheld, both residents of the said village.

Police Captain Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 6, said the suspects were caught by the guard allegedly stealing three electric fans, two speakers, cologne, a pair of shorts, and a bag from a classroom located at the second floor of the school building around 3:30 a.m.

Recovered from the suspects were the stolen items, a cutter blade, a pair of scissors, and a broken padlock.

Bonilla said the two suspects, who are also students of the school would usually roam around the school buildings during daytime as observed by the guards.

“They were probably checking which room they would target or how they would be able to strike,” he added.

Both suspects admitted the crime, according to Bonilla.

Mondragon is detained at the said police station while his minor-companion is under the custody of the Social Development Center (SDC) for filing of robbery charges.

Bonilla said the school was also robbed last year, and the arrested suspects have identified some of their other companions who were allegedly behind the incident.
