BACOLOD City – Two police chiefs in Negros Occidental were relieved from their posts effective July 1, 2019.

Relieved were Police Major Albert Sy, chief of Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, and Police Major Fernando Somblingo, chief of Isabela Municipal Police Station.

Police Major Edison Garcia, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said Somblingo replaced Sy in Binalbagan town while Sy was moved to Nocppo headquarters.

Garcia said Sy was relieved from his post after finishing his two-year tenure in Binalbagan town, while Somblingo’s relief came after newly-elected Mayor Irene Montilla requested for his replacement as head of Isabela police force.

Montilla defeated Joselito Malabor in the May 13 polls.

Meanwhile, Somblingo’s post in Isabela was assumed by Police Major Ruben Pajarito from Nocppo headquarters.

Aside from the two police chiefs, Police Captain Roger Pama, deputy chief of Escalante City Police Station was relieved from his post and was transferred to Nocppo headquarters.
