Two persons shot dead

BACOLOD City – Two persons were gunned down in Negros Occidental over the weekend.

In Bago City, Alex Sayco, 41, of Barangay Mailum, was shot by an unidentified perpetrator in Barangay Alianza last Saturday.

According to the police, Sayco jumped off his driven truck while the gunman chased and shot him.

The victim managed to crawl under the tricycle of a witness, but he was shot again.

Sayco was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Police recovered from the scene two empty shells of .45 -caliber ammunition.

Police Lieutenant Joseph Jaro, deputy police chief of Bago City Police Station, said they are eyeing grudges as possible motive in the incident.

Jaro said they already have persons of interest in the case.

In Himamaylan City, Jimm Erick Bruce Efenio, 32, of Barangay Sara-et, was killed in Barangay III last Saturday.

Police records disclosed that Efenio and his companion went to a farm to check their banana plantation and water tank as they heard that it was stolen.

However, while they were on their way home on board a motorcycle, the suspect identified as Roy Alamon allegedly fired his gun at them, hitting the victim that caused him to fall on the ground.

According to the witness, the suspect then reportedly came closer to the victim, shot him again, and fled.

Efenio was brought to Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
