BACOLOD City – Two persons were gunned down in separate shooting incidents here and in Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

In Bago City, Danny Boy Solina, 34, of Barangay Calumangan, died after he was allegedly shot by Roque Vingco of Barangay Balingasag.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, city police chief, said Solina was driving a van when he saw Vingco sitting on the road gutter at Barangay Calumangan.

Solina then disembarked from the van and confronted Vingco about their land conflict, Malong said.

A heated argument then ensued, after which the suspect drew a gun and shot the victim.

Vingco fled on board a motorcycle.

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds in his body and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.

Police recovered from the scene a dud.45-caliber bullet.

“Dugay na abi na may dumtanay sila because of land conflict,” Malong said.

Later in the evening, Rene Campus of Barangay Banago here was also reportedly killed by his neighbor in the said village.

Based on the police investigation, Campus was outside their house when he figured in an altercation with his neighbor identified as Jerson Ansola who just arrived home from work.

Police eyed grudges behind the incident. Ansola surrendered to the police the following day.

Both suspects have yet to be reached for comment.
