Two killed, one hurt in motorcycle collision

BACOLOD City – Two persons were killed while another was seriously wounded in a motorcycle collision at Purok Tamburong, Barangay Lopez Jaena, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Monday.

Police identified the fatalities as Leneil Caro, 22, of Barangay Malubon; and Renafe Obial, 27, of Barangay Lopez Jaena.

Wounded were Renafe’s husband Charlie Obial, 30, of Barangay Lopez Jaena.

Police Corporal Dennis Fernandez, traffic investigator of Sagay City Police Station, said Caro was driving a motorcycle on his way to Barangay Rizal when he reportedly overtook an unidentified vehicle and crashed into the couple’s motorcycle driven by Charlie on their way home.

Fernandez said the three were not wearing helmets and were thrown off their motorcycle, causing multiple injuries in their bodies.

Fernandez said that Caro was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, while Renafe passed away at a hospital around 4:10 a.m. yesterday.

Fernandez said that Charlie was referred to a hospital in Manapla town and is still under observation.
