More lives were lost following a road incident involving a motorcycle late evening of Nov 30, 2020 in Pototan, Iloilo.
Police identified the victims as Noeme Barreto II, 23, of Poblacion, Barotac, Viejo, Iloilo; and
ZJ Mabuyao, 23, of Barangay Santiago, Barotac Viejo.
Major Ciriaco Esquilarga, Pototan police chief, said that the two victims were on their way to New Lucena town when the incident happened.
They were driving by Barangay Dawis when they collided with a Fuso truck driven by Melvin Buenacasa, 41, of Barangay Paga, San Enrique town.
Esquilarga said CCTV footage showed that the motorcycle was speeding.
He said it is possible that the driver failed to slow down while approaching an intersection until they crashed into the truck.
They were immediately taken to Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town but were declared dead on arrival.
