Two farmers fall in gun raid

Two farmers were arrested in separate firearm raids morning of Feb 21, 2022.

Arrested were Richard Dacudao, 57, of Barangay Minanga, Dueñas, Iloilo; and Dexter Billones, 47, of Barangay Janguslob, Dumarao, Capiz.

Members of Dueñas Municipal Police Station, the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Police Highway Patrol Team (PHPT)-Iloilo searched Dacudao’s house around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The operation was authorized by Search Warrant Number 23-225 issued by Judge Domingo Casiple Jr. of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 69 in PD Monfort North, Dumangas, Iloilo on Feb. 13, 2023.

Recovered during the operation were a 12-gauge shotgun with three ammunitions, a Colt M1911 A1 caliber .45 pistol (serial number 687285) with a magazine loaded with six ammunitions and two extra magazines loaded with ten ammunitions, five ammunitions for a caliber .9mm pistol and a holster.

Meanwhile, at around 7:18 a.m., members of Dumarao Municipal Police Station, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz, PHPT-Capiz, 2nd Capiz Mobile Force Company and Capiz Police Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit implemented Search Warrant No. 11-2023 against Billones.

Executive Judge Esperanza Isabela E Poco-Deslate of RTC Branch 19 in Roxas City, Capiz, issued the search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Recovered from Billones’ house was a 12-gauge homemade shotgun with 4 ammunitions.

Both Dacudao and Billones are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591. (With a report from Felipe V. Celino)
