BACOLOD City – Two persons were arrested while P584,800 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate buy-bust operations here from July 1 to 2, 2022.

Last Friday, a man was nabbed at Barangay Singcang-Airport after police confiscated from him 26 grams of suspected shabu valued at P176,800.

The subject was identified as Eduardo Navarro Jr., 34, of Barangay 3, who is renting a house at Barangay Singcang-Airport along with his two children and live-in partner.

Police Lieutenant Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said Navarro is an alleged street level individual.

He would usually repack the illegal drugs which he reportedly sourced from one of the barangays here, and later sell it to his clients, according to Mogato.

Mogato said Navarro was previously arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition but was later released after he applied for probation.

In 2017, Navarro was also arrested in a drug offense, but was released two years later through plea bargaining, he added.

Navarro is detained at Police Station 8.
The following day, another alleged drug pusher was arrested in a private cemetery in Barangay Bata and led to the seizure of 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000.

Police identified the subject as Ereneo Pranisa, 34, of Barangay Tangub here.

Police Captain John Christopher Masangkay, head of Police Station 5, said that Ereneo is an alleged high value individual after police confiscated more than 50 grams of illegal drugs from him.

Masangkay said the operation was launched against two subjects, however, Pranisa’s companion was not present when he was busted.

“Wala kaupod ang isa pag-operate namon,” he added.

Police also recovered from him the P500 marked money, and improvised tooter.

Masangkay said that Pranisa reportedly sourced the contraband from a contact inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

“Gina padala lang ang items kuno through courier service or meet up mag abot na diri,” he added.

Masangkay said they are checking the background of Pranisa if he has any criminal record.

Masangkay said that Pranisa allegedly distributes the illegal drugs in Barangays 2, Banago, and other areas here.

Pranisa is detained at Police Station 5.
