A delivery truck driver was arrested after he fired his gun indiscriminately on Nov 17, 2022 in San Dionisio, Iloilo.

Norgenel Lago, 41, of Barangay Santol, San Dionisio, was caught in the act of illegally discharging his gun.

Lieutenant Soviet Torre, San Dionisio police chief, said Lago was drunk when he fired his gun outside the barangay hall, where an event was going on.

Barangay Kagawad Mark Batallones and some village watchmen placed the suspect under arrest.

Torre said the suspect fired his gun four times.

Recovered from his possession was a caliber .45 Rock Island 1911 pistol with magazine loaded with 4 live ammunition.

An extra magazine with 8 live ammunition was also seized from his possession.

Torre noted that the suspect has a license and a permit to carry a firearm outside of residence (PTCFOR).

“But we will make a report for his license to be revoked because of what he did,” he said.

The suspect is now detained and will be charged for violation of Sec.2 paragraph (b) of Republic Act 11926 (An Act Penalizing Willful and Indiscriminate Discharge of Firearms, Amending for the Purpose Act No. 3815, As Amended, Otherwise Known as the Revised Penal Code).
