BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested four persons, including a tricycle driver, and seized P408,000 worth of suspected shabu here and in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In La Carlota City, Joven Capistrano, 26, who is listed fourth in the drugs watchlist of the city, was arrested in Barangay III last Tuesday.

Police recovered from him 17 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams worth P340,000, the P500 marked money, and a cellular phone.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Lowell Garinganao, city police chief, Capistrano was monitored by police operatives for a couple of months before his arrest.

He is a high value individual, according to a report from Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.

Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director, said the effort of the police operatives has a significant contribution to their goal of cleansing the communities from the menace of illegal drugs.

Dongbo commended them for their dedication and hard work in implementing the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, as shown in numerous arrests of drug peddlers in the region.

Capistrano has yet to be reached for comment.

The following day, a man was also arrested in Barangay Zone 3, Talisay City last Wednesday after he allegedly yielded P20,400 worth of suspected shabu.

In Bacolod, two persons were apprehended in Barangays 12 and Banago, on the same day, with a total confiscation of P47,600 worth of the said contraband.
