There’s high probability that the Tokyo Olympics won’t be seeing action this 2020.

With the COVID-19 pandemic delaying the activities for the 2020 Olympics, the organizers also said that the overhaul will cause them a large time for another preparation, and July 2021 will be one of the most ideal dates.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) chief, Thomas Bach, also said that rescheduling the Olympics to the summer season would not be a problem.

Bach’s decision was strongly backed by Tokyo Governor, Yuriko Koike, who added that moving the Olympics to the said date would make it less hot and humid.

Moreover, Koike also claimed that her suggestion will help most of the competing athletes because the cooler environment will be easier to endure.

However, the petition of moving the date to July 2021 is still under negotiations and the IOC, the Japanese Olympic Committee, and Tokyo officials will have to finalize things before deciding for the next date of the Olympics.
