Three persons nabbed for theft

Three persons were arrested for alleged stealing in separate areas in Iloilo City.

The first arrest happened 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at Smallville Complex in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district.

Dexter Selupaza, 25, and Steven Sillolar, 24, both residents of Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala 1, City Proper, were arrested after they allegedly snatched the bag of a bar customer.

According to PG Asuncion, 32, a resident of Barangay San Juan, Molo, he discovered that his sling bag was missing when he returned to their table.

He was subsequently informed that Selupaza and Sillolar took it.

Asuncion ran after the two suspects who were about to board a taxi.

He then grappled for the bag until police doing roving operations in the area responded.

Asuncion recovered his Samsonite sling bag containing a power bank and a wallet with identification cards and P438 cash.

Meanwhile, Alberto Luzuriaga Jr., 38, of Barangay Alalasan, Lapuz, Iloilo City, was arrested after he allegedly filched the mobile phone of a 15-year-old lad.

The victim was walking along Guanco Street, City Proper when Luzuriaga took his Oppo mobile phone placed in his backpack.

Police auxiliaries Benjamin Abastollas and Marvin Sionosa arrested the suspect.

The three suspects are now detained and might be charged for theft.
