Three men linked to robberies nabbed

BACOLOD City – Three persons tagged behind some robbery and hold-up incidents here and in Talisay City, Negros Occidental were arrested at Barangay 5 here early Sunday.

Police identified the suspects as Martin Catigan, Christian Dayuno, and Ronnel Salbibia.

Catigan and Salbibia were arrested in pursuit operation in coordination with Police Station 2 and 4 after they allegedly robbed a 34-year-old man at Barangay Zone 14B, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Police Captain Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, said both suspects were monitored to have been hiding at the house of their relatives in the said village.

Both suspects were positively identified by the victim through the rouges gallery of Talisay City Police Station.

The victim alleged that the suspects on a motorcycle declared a hold-up at gunpoint and allegedly took his backpack with P153,322.67 cash, and a laptop.

Recovered from the suspects was a .38-caliber revolver, three live ammunition of the said firearm, a homemade shotgun, an ammunition of a 12 gauge shotgun, and five grams of suspected shabu worth P60,000.

Estopa said one of the suspects was also identified as the one who previously robbed a hardware store in the area of Police Station 4.

Suspects are detained at Talisay City Police Station for filing of the appropriate charges.
