Three men facing rape raps nabbed in Iloilo

Three wanted persons facing rape charges were arrested in separate operations on March 6, 2023 in Iloilo province.

The suspects had different backgrounds. One is a 73-year-old widow, another is a 22-year-old detainee and another is a 26-year-old construction worker.

At around 11:30 a.m., police arrested Rene Subibi Sr., 73, at his home in Barangay Ermita, Dumangas, Iloilo.

Members of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Special Operations Group (IPPO SOG), and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, collared Subibi for rape docketed as Criminal Case Nos. 21-10186-A and 21-10187.

Executive Judge Vicente Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the warrant on Jan. 23, 2023.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Meanwhile, police had an easy time nabbing Paul Adrian Armada, as the 22-year-old suspect from Barangay Barasalon, Janiuay, Iloilo was in the police lock-up cell since Feb. 22, 2023.

Members of Janiuay PNP just served an arrest warrant against Armada for rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code.

Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of the RTC Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Dec. 10, 2021.

Armada, Janiuay’s third most wanted man, was arrested for another rape case on February 22. The case is docketed as CC No. 21-1096 and his arrest warrant was issued on Sept. 23, 2021

Two girls who were his chat mates allegedly accused him and his two friends of rape.

But only Armada and another friend were indicted while the case against their companion was dropped.

Meanwhile, members of Mina Municipal Police Station arrested Joshua Benjamin, a 26-year-old construction worker from Barangay Abilay Sur, Oton, Iloilo.

Mina cops served the arrest warrant for rape by sexual assault docketed as Criminal Case Numbers 23-10657 and 23-23658.

Judge Go also issued the arrest warrant against the suspect on Feb. 20, 2023

Benjamin is Mina’s topmost wanted person.

All suspects are now detained.
