BACOLOD City – Grudges triggered three brothers to kill each other in Barangay Inolingan Proper, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Police identified the fatalities as Carpentero brothers – Armando, 56, Ben, 56, and Reynante, 38.
Police Major Randy Babor, town police chief, said that three days ago, Ben and Reynante wanted to cut the coconut tree near their parents’ house, but Armando wouldn’t allow it.
This caused Armando to get mad and allegedly hurt his mother, which in turn irked Ben and Reynante, the police chief added.
When Ben and Reynante got drunk that night, they went to Armando’s house and allegedly shot him.
Assuming that Armando was dead, Ben and Reynante left their brother’s house.
But Armando managed to retaliate by allegedly stabbing Ben and Reynante several times which led to their death, Babor said.
One of their brothers heard the commotion and even tried to pacify them. However, he was too late as his three brothers already suffered serious injuries.
“Siguro na aggravate lang recently because sa natabo sa mother nila and sa ila baisay parte sa puno ka lubi,” Babor said.
Babor said that Armando was reportedly mentally-ill and had a misunderstanding with his two brothers over a land conflict.
Police recovered from the scene a .38 caliber revolver with two live ammunition, and two bladed weapons.
