BACOLOD City – Amid the calls from progressive groups for the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte, civil society group Task Force Kasanag (TFK) affirmed its support to the present administration Tuesday, during the 34th anniversary of the EDSA People Power revolution.

TFK legal adviser and Bacolod City Councilor Archie Baribar, who is also a staunch supporter of Duterte, urged Negrenses to continue supporting the Duterte administration.

Baribar lamented that the Edsa Revolution has lost significance.

Baribar said other than the fact that Feb. 25 was declared a holiday, what counts to most, especially to parents, is that there is no class and there is no need to give students their allowance.

“There was no revolution that took place, it was only benefitted by a few and not the Filipino masses,” he added.

Baribar also said that Duterte is the only President that dared to fight oligarchs.

He may be a swearing President but to the people who live in slums that is a way of venting frustration but not necessarily going against the norms of society, Baribar also said.

Baribar added that Duterte is the only president in the country who has maintained his popularity despite several issues in his few remaining years in office.

He said a majority of the Filipino people are satisfied with the current administration, based on surveys.

“We will continue to support the President despite his perfect imperfections.”

TFK founder and national commander John Chiong said their gathering Tuesday is a nationwide event of the organization with other chapters in Luzon and Mindanao, simultaneously affirming their support to Duterte to mark the anniversary of Edsa People Power Revolution.

Chiong added that they are fully supportive of the administration’s stance against illegal drugs, crimes, corruption, and terrorism, which are also the advocacies of the group.
